Falling Asleep of His Grace Dr. Geevarghese Mar Osthatios, Metropolitan

With faith in Christ and in the hope of resurrection, the Diocesan Office would like to inform you of the passing away of His Grace Dr. Geevarghese Mar Osthathios, Metropolitan.

Our Diocesan Metropolitan, His Grace Zachariah Mar Nicholovos, has arrived safely in India, and will be participating in the Burial Services and representing our Diocese.

There will be evening prayer followed by a memorial prayer service for the newly departed Hierarch, today (Thursday, February 16, 2012), at 6:30PM at our Diocesan Chapel (Aramana Chapel) in Muttontown, New York.

May the memory of our "Sabha Ratnam", His Grace Dr. Geevarghese Mar Osthathios, Metropolitan, be eternal!

Mary had a little Lamb,
His fleece was white as snow
And everywhere that Mary went,                                               
The Lamb was sure to go.
He followed her to school each day,
T wasn’t even in the rule.
He made the children laugh and play.
To have a Lamb at school
And then the rules as changed one day,
Illegal it became;
To bring the Lamb of God to school.
Or even speak his Name.
Everyday got worse and worse,
And days turned into years,
Instead of hearing children laugh,
We heard gun shots and tears,
What must we do stop the crime
That's in our school today?
Let's let the Lamb comes back to school,
And teach our kids to pray!
